This class is designed for beginning ELL students that have little or no computer experience. The main focus of the class will be keyboarding.
ELL Reading Support
This course focuses on filling in the gaps of advanced level EL's who have high oral skills but low reading levels. The emphasis is on academic vocabulary and comprehension strategies to develop strong and independent readers. This program is offered to 7th and 8th graders who have been in the ESL program for 5 years or more, have oral language skills at level 5 or above, and their reading proficiency scores are 4.5 or below.
Sheltered Computer Applications
This class is designed for ELL students that have limited computer experience, and would benefit from sheltered instruction. The main focus of the class is Microsoft Word.
Beginning Literacy
This course is designed for newcomers and beginner ELL students that have limited reading and writing abilities in English. This course will focus on phonics, American Reading Company texts, and basic writing skills.
